About Haggl

I work in IT and originally moved from the UK to Malta, where I quickly noticed a frustrating problem when shopping online through European stores.

The exact same product could have completely different prices depending on which the retailer country you ordered from. Sometimes the German store had a much better deal, while other times Spain, France, or Italy were cheaper. Shipping costs and product availability also varied a lot, especially when ordering to Malta.

At first, I manually checked different European storesan stores myself to try and find the best deal. One time, I managed to save nearly €100 on a headset simply by comparing prices across countries manually.

I also tried using other comparison websites, but many of them felt slow, unreliable, or difficult to use properly. Some did not work the way I expected, while others were missing marketplaces or useful features.

Before creating Haggl, I used to manually share cheaper links and price differences with friends and family across Europe because I genuinely enjoy helping people save money where they can. Friends and family kept telling me how useful the idea was and how much time and money it could save people, which encouraged me to finally turn it into a real platform.

The problem was that manually checking prices took far too much time.

That’s when the idea for Haggl started, after debating the idea for nearly five years.

I wanted a simple way to instantly compare prices across Europe in one place, helping people save money without having to open multiple retailer websites and search one by one.

The name “Haggl” comes from the English word “haggle”, which means negotiating or finding a better price. Since the platform focuses on helping shoppers discover cheaper prices across EU stores Europe, the name felt like the perfect fit for the project and domain name: Haggl.eu.

As more people discover and use Haggl, I plan to continue improving and expanding the platform to help even more shoppers across Europe discover better deals, compare prices faster, and avoid overpaying online.
